This guide walks you through creating your Skycloak account and understanding what happens next. With our streamlined onboarding process, you’ll have authentication working in under 30 minutes.

Creating Your Account

Step 1: Sign Up

  1. Visit app.skycloak.io
  2. Click “Sign Up” or “Start Free Trial”
  3. Choose your preferred authentication method:
    • Email and Password - Traditional signup
    • GitHub - Quick signup for developers
    • Google - Use your Google account

Step 2: Complete Your Profile

If using email signup, provide:

  • First Name - How we’ll address you
  • Last Name - Complete your profile
  • Email Address - For account notifications
  • Password - Minimum 8 characters, mix of letters and numbers

For social login (GitHub/Google):

  • We’ll automatically populate your name and email
  • You can update these later in account settings

Step 3: Accept Terms

Review and accept:

  • Terms of Service
  • Privacy Policy
  • Data Processing Agreement (for GDPR compliance)

Email Verification

After signing up, you’ll need to verify your email address:

  1. Check Your Inbox - Look for “Verify your Skycloak account”
  2. Click Verification Link - Valid for 24 hours
  3. Confirmation - You’ll see a success message

  3. Export - Download your configuration
  4. Pause - We’ll keep your data for 30 days

Account Types and Permissions

Personal Accounts

  • Full control of your resources
  • Can create multiple workspaces
  • Invite team members
  • Manage billing

Team Member Accounts

When invited to a workspace, you’ll be assigned one of these roles:

  • workspace:owner: Full administrative control and ownership
  • workspace:admin: Manage all resources including billing
  • workspace:billing: Manage billing and subscriptions only
  • cluster:admin: Create and manage assigned clusters
  • cluster:viewer: Read-only access to assigned clusters

Initial Configuration

Workspace Settings

Your workspace includes:

  • Unique Name: Used in URLs and identification
  • Default Region: Where resources are created
  • Team Settings: Member management
  • Billing Info: Subscription and payment

Security Settings

We recommend enabling:

  • Two-Factor Authentication - Extra account security
  • Strong Password - Protect your account
  • Login Notifications - Alert on new sign-ins
