Dashboard and Login Language

Dashboard and Login Language

The Skycloak dashboard and the Skycloak sign-in and sign-up pages are available in English, French and German. Your choice is saved on your Skycloak account, so it follows you to every browser and device you sign in from.

This setting changes the language of the Skycloak dashboard you use to manage your workspace. It does not change the languages your own users see on your realms’ login pages. For that, see the language settings in Branding.

Choose your language

  1. Select the globe button in the top bar of the dashboard. It shows the code of the current language, such as EN.
  2. Pick English, Français or Deutsch.

The dashboard switches straight away, without reloading the page. If you are still setting up your workspace, the same button is at the bottom of the setup screens.

Your choice is saved to your account at the same moment. If it cannot be saved, for example because your connection dropped, a message tells you so. The new language then stays until you reload the page, and you can pick it again to save it.

How the language is chosen

When you open the dashboard, Skycloak uses, in this order:

  1. The language you chose and saved on your account.
  2. Your browser’s language, if it is French or German.
  3. English.

So a French or German browser shows the dashboard in that language from your first visit, and once you pick a language yourself, that choice wins on every device.

Sign-in and sign-up pages

The Skycloak sign-in and sign-up pages use the same setting. Once you have chosen a language and signed in, the sign-in page opens in that language the next time you sign in.

When you arrive from the French or German pages of skycloak.io, the sign-up and sign-in pages open in French or German before you have chosen anything. On those pages you can also switch language yourself with the language menu.

What is translated

The navigation (top bar, sidebar and breadcrumbs), the workspace switcher, the sign-in related screens, workspace setup and the trial screens are available in all three languages. Other dashboard pages are being translated and show in English until then. Anything we have not translated yet always appears in English, never as a blank.

Some Keycloak terms stay in English in every language, because they are the words you will find in Keycloak’s own documentation, logs and admin screens: for example realm, client, identity provider and cluster.

French and German translations are machine-produced. If a wording looks wrong or confusing, please report a problem and we will fix it.
